Screen Recording turns a screen capture into an AI video. Upload a recording you already have, or record your screen directly inside Lucas — then Lucas breaks it into scenes, cleans up the narration, and produces an editable, translatable video.
Accessing Screen Recording
Location: You can start a screen recording video from a few places — they all lead to the same place:
- The Screen Recording quick action on your Studio workspace
- The Screen Recording option on the home page
- The Screen Recording tab under "What is your source?" if you open Enterprise AI Video directly
Providing Your Input Video
Under Upload or record your screen (required):

Note: Both options support .mp4 recordings up to 6 minutes.
Recording your screen
- Click Record Screen.
- Your browser's native screen-share picker opens. Choose a screen, window, or tab, then confirm.
- Recording starts. Lucas shows a recording indicator and a Stop control.
- Click Stop to end the recording. Lucas saves it as an MP4 and sets it as the input video for the flow.
Note: Lucas keeps the recording at the highest quality it can while staying under 100 MB, compressing automatically as needed. If it can't get under 100 MB, you'll see an error and no input video is set.
Note: If you cancel the browser's screen-share picker without selecting a source, no recording starts and the flow returns to where you were before clicking Record Screen.
Note: If your browser doesn't support screen recording, the Record Screen button isn't shown — use Upload Recording instead.
Guiding Lucas (Optional)
Above the recording section, the Describe what your video should achieve field lets you optionally add a Prompt and/or Script:
- Prompt: Tell Lucas what to emphasize — audience, tone, instructions. You can also paste a link or upload a document here.
- Script: Paste or write your own narration, or let Lucas generate it for you. If you provide a script, Lucas reads it as the narration; start it with a short intro and end with a brief ending for best results.
Neither field is required — Lucas can generate narration from the recording alone.
Presenter and Style
On the right side of the flow, choose:
- Presenter: Who narrates the video. If an avatar is selected, the presenter also appears on screen.
- Style: The visual template applied to your video (e.g., aspect ratio, look and feel). Only styles set up to support screen recording content appear here.
What Lucas Does With Your Recording
Once your recording is uploaded or recorded, Lucas automatically:
- Breaks the video into scenes at natural breaks in the recording
- Cuts or shortens filler, idle time, and loading screens
- Cleans up the narration
- Combines your recording, Prompt, and Script (if provided) into one polished video
- Produces a video you can edit and translate afterward, just like other Lucas videos
Edge Cases

Common Questions
Q: What's the maximum length for a screen recording? A: 6 minutes, for both uploaded and in-app recordings.
Q: Can I edit or trim my recording inside Lucas? A: Not before creating the video — trim or edit the recording beforehand. Once your video is generated, you can edit it like any other Lucas video.
Q: Will my microphone or system audio be recorded? A: Only if your browser includes audio by default when sharing your screen. Lucas doesn't add a separate audio capture.
Q: What if my browser doesn't support screen recording? A: The Record Screen button won't appear. Upload a pre-recorded video instead.
Q: Do I need to add a Prompt or Script? A: No — both are optional. Without them, Lucas generates the narration for you based on your recording.
